Donato Milesi... Bowyer
Here's a short video produced by Donato Milesi, who was a bowmaking student of Jean-Marie Coche. Donato also was a graduate of Jean-Marie's archery school. Jean-Marie was John Schulz's best overall student as per what Schulz told me
The techniques employed by Donato are very similar to the way I build, and this video show the file work necessary to get a trapped deep core limb, which is adjusted along its length to achieve the proper tiller. He also employs a center lam of fiberglass. I wish I could discuss with him his reasons for doing so, but it's interesting that two Hill style bowyers, building in the fashion of Schulz's lessons half a world apart, would use this bow construction.

Very interesting- looks very time consuming in his construction- even looks like he files in the sight window/shelf - would liked to seen the whole process but guess would have been a feature film

Deletesono Donato Milesi vi ringrazio x la menzione del mio Lavoro, un arciere Californiano che vive con la sua Famiglia in Svezia, mi ha fatto visita e mi ha girato questo breve ma interessante articolo. E' veramente bello sapere che Allievi Costruttori di Archi Semi-longbow sparsi nel mondo,continuano a percorrere la Via insegnata dai nostri Maestri, è importantissimo rispettare i loro dettami, Jean Marie mi disse che unicamente x migliorare la sicurezza era possibile apportare Modifiche. Proprio x questo con alcuni Ingegneri e tecnici della mia Ditta, esperti in fabbricazione di fucili da Caccia, (nei Calci di fucile si inserisce un tondino di Vetroresina) , discutendo ed esponendo varie dinamiche e problematiche delle armi e degli Archi , mi suggerirono di adottare questa soluzione, , così in caso di rottura non si spezza o esplode, creando ferite all'Arciere.
ReplyDeleteho costruito i primi due Archi con lamina e poi li abbiamo portati alla rottura ,il risultato è stato molto confortante, da allora è parte di tutti i miei Semi-longbow.
Nel proseguo poi, mi sono reso conto che questo piccolo accorgimento x la sicurezza, poteva farmi utilizzare i nuovi filati x la corda di Dacron, con i giusti accorgimenti ho cominciato a provare x 4 anni il filato Spektra , dopo i vari anni di collaudo pure lo Spektra è entrata a far parte delle mie corde. scusate la lunghezza del testo,un salutone ed un Abbraccio Donato
