Welcome to Donato Milesi, and to the overseas readers and contributors

It's quite interesting how far a little niche archery style of shooting and tackle like the Hill style can be transported overseas through dedicated students and allowed to flourish through the committed work of ardent followers.  Jean-Marie Coche studied under John Schulz, and carried the Hill style torch to France where the flame spread to various areas of Europe.

One of those ardent followers of the Hill style through Coche is Donato Milesi.  I've mentioned him before, and thanks to the efforts of an American follower of my Blog, Donato was visited and told about the Blog.   Donato has now commented on a few posts and will be contributing in the future as he feels the desire.  I'm pretty sure that this will open up some dialogue about the Hill style and in so, there will be some learning about the Hill style and it's nuances from all sides.

In the current times, reading the various world-wide languages is much easier due to the translating intelligence of our internet.  When you see someone post in any language other than English, just highlight the text, right-click your mouse and Google or another version will bring up a translate option.  You can then translate the entire text into your native language.  I'm sure this has been happening as there are readers from nineteen countries checking in.  This is just a simple how-to and also extending a welcome to Donato and hoping for continued experiences to be shared as the Hill style traveled eastward.

  2. I've used the translation feature to view Donato's website, and I'm able to get a fairly decent understanding of the different bow options/models he offers, but it's not always a perfect translation and you have to sort of fill in the blanks within the context of the writing. Does anyone know of the best way to contact Donato to discuss a possible bow build? I'm interested in possibly placing an order some day.

    1. On his website laviadimezzo dot org there is an email address : laviadimezzo at gmail dot com. I guess that an email is better than a phone call as both of you can use AI to translate.

  3. Nate, I am from the other side of the pond. If you ever want to organize a video or phone call with Donato (Google Meet, WhatsApp or whatever) I can act as an interpreter. I don't know Donato but we speak the same language.
